DECEMBER NEWSLETTER-

Dear Patients,

As many of you are aware Medeea Popei no longer works at TLC 4 Smiles, we have been trying to recruit a dentist since June 2023.

Recruiting an NHS dentist is proving impossible, but we are hopeful that in the New Year we may be fortunate enough to have someone.

Currently we have only two clinicians- Jessica Rodrigo Caro dental surgeon, Samantha Webb Dental Therapist. Dental Therapist are relatively new to practice, they are qualified to carry out all routine care. The majority of patients will be seen by Samantha, but more complex treatments such as RCT, Extractions, crowns and bridges and dentures will need to be treated by Jessica Rodrigo Caro.

Unfortunately, while we are trying to recruit, this is putting a great deal of strain on the service we can provide, waiting times are a little longer than is ideal and we do apologise for this.

This also means that at times we may need to cancel or rearrange appointments due to illness and unforeseen circumstances. Please be mindful there are only two clinicians at TLC 4 Smiles and they are doing their best.

Our Christmas opening times are-

24th December 8:30am-2pm

Re-open 27th December 8:30am-2pm

Closed until 2nd January

Re-open 2nd January 9am-1pm

Closed until 7th January where we resume normal working hours 8:30am-5pm

For your information, we had 57 patients who did not attend their dental appointment in November, 41 patients for Jessica and 16 patients for Samantha. We would be grateful if patients could please cancel with as much notice as possible as we have patients waiting for appointments.

Just a polite reminder that we have a Zero Tolerance Policy. We are doing our very best to continue to deliver an NHS dental service. Over the last couple of months our staff have experienced an unacceptable amount of verbal abuse. Abusive patients will be deregistered.
